I have always thought that wine and people go together. There’s been no time when I’ve had wine and haven’t thought of friends: I’m either drinking with friends and wishing they were with me.

The following is an entry I submitted to the 2026 Jancis Robinson Wine Writing Competition. I was among the lucky group to be published ahead of their final choices.
